Functional Medicine Certificate
Bastyr’s unique IFM certification program allows ND students in their final year of the program the opportunity to complete all coursework for IFM certification. The training provides additional clinical skills and another effective framework to apply for patients with chronic, complex conditions. IFM certification is well-recognized and enhances employability. This offering is also eligible for financial aid.
In order to obtain the formal IFM certificate, program participants will also have to complete a post-graduation exam.
1 year, concurrent with 4th or 5th year of ND program
Credentials obtained: Functional Medicine Certificate, enabling individuals to pursue the IFM certificate upon completion.

IFM’s Functional Medicine Certification Program (IFMCP) is designed to help established clinicians develop advanced skills and competence in the treatment of patients. IFMCP does not grant any additional legal or specialty status. Clinicians can only apply their functional medicine education within the scope of their current healthcare licensure.
Students in their 4th and 5th year of the ND program are eligible.
