Board Chair, Jane Guiltinan, ND
Chair
Dr. Jane Guiltinan is Dean Emerita of the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University. She graduated from Bastyr in 1986, and has served as a clinical professor, medical director, dean of clinical affairs and dean of the School of Naturopathic Medicine during her 31-year tenure at Bastyr. She was the co-medical director for the King County Natural Medicine Clinic, the first publicly funded integrated health clinic in the United States.
Dr. Guiltinan was the medical director for the Healing AIDS Research Project, an NIH-funded trial that was awarded the Blackmore International Award for Outstanding Research in Natural Medicine in 1990. She has participated in several other research studies on issues related to menopause and women’s health. She was the principal investigator on an NIH grant to increase the teaching and application of evidence-based medicine within the curriculum of the naturopathic medical school at Bastyr. She served on the boards and as president of both the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges. She also served on the board of Harborview Medical Center, Seattle’s Level 1 trauma center. In 2011, she was appointed by the US Secretary of Health and Human Services to the Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health at the NIH. She has lectured extensively and published several papers. Currently, Jane lives in Port Townsend with her spouse and enjoys hiking, kayaking, cycling, golfing, gardening, and volunteering for several local environmental stewardship organizations. She is currently serving on the board of the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding and as board president of the Jefferson Land Trust.
Secretary, Erin Rhae Biller, ND

Dr. Biller is a practicing Naturopathic Doctor in California and Arizona, with the ability to consult globally with clients through video consulting. Her focus is on concierge primary care for women and families. Dr. Biller received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s College of California and her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University California.
Luke G. Huber, ND, MBA, IOM
Trustee
Dr. Huber is Vice President of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) in Washington, DC, the leading trade association for dietary supplements and functional foods. He focuses on international affairs, scientific affairs, and nutrition policy activities that support the role of dietary supplements and functional foods in health promotion and disease prevention. He has over 25 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry, leading product development, scientific and technical affairs, clinical research, and regulatory affairs.
Dr. Huber received his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Bothell, WA, completed his residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL, earned his MBA with honors from University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and received his certification in Nonprofit Organization Management (IOM) from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He became the first naturopathic physician to complete a two-year hospital-based residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America's flagship hospital near Chicago in 2000. Prior to joining CRN, he held senior scientific and technical leadership roles at prominent companies within the dietary supplement industry, including serving as Vice President of Product Innovation and Scientific Development at Life Extension and Global R&D Director at Reckitt Benckiser. Dr. Huber also maintained a multi-disciplinary natural medicine clinic in New Hampshire for over a decade.
Dr. Huber's career exemplifies the integration of scientific expertise with leadership in industry, policy, and advocacy. He is passionate about natural medicine and dedicated to seeing Bastyr University thrive. Dr. Huber lives in northern Virginia with his wife and enjoys spending vacations with his two children who are currently in college.
Chris Davis, MBA
Trustee, Co-Vice Chair
Retired in 2020 following an accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury and paralysis. After a period primarily focused on physical rehabilitation, I turned my focus to board work and community involvement. My background is in consulting with healthcare organizations, primarily with large-scale information technology transitions and organizational transformations. I have a wide and varied experience base and skillset across business, healthcare, technology, and large-scale projects.
Joseph Subbiondo, MA
Trustee, Co-Vice Chair
Joseph L. Subbiondo is a member of the International Editorial Committee of the Beijing International Review of Education. He is President Emeritus of the California Institute of Integral Studies where he served as President for 17 years. He has been Academic Vice President at the University of the Pacific, Dean of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University, and Dean of Liberal Arts at Saint Mary's College of California. Prior to his administrative positions, he taught English literature and composition at Villanova University, and English literature and general linguistics at Santa Clara University. He currently publishes and presents on the history of linguistics, higher education leadership, integral education, and language and consciousness. He received his undergraduate education at St. John’s University (NY) and graduate education at the University of Southern California and Temple University.
Christian Dodge, ND
Faculty Representative
Dr. Dodge is a core clinical faculty member in the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University. As a naturopathic physician educator, he teaches classes in naturopathic theory and practice, jurisprudence, and physical medicine, and he supervises clinic shifts with an interest in primary care and the management of acute and chronic pain through hands-on treatments, including spinal, cranial, and visceral manipulation. A dedicated leader in his field, he has served on the board of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and currently represents Bastyr at the House of Delegates for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. His contributions have also extended to policy and peer review as a member of the National Quality Forum’s Musculoskeletal Standing Committee and a peer reviewer for Washington State Labor and Industries. Recognized for his excellence, Dr. Dodge was named one of Seattle Metropolitan magazine’s Top Doctors and received the William A. Mitchell, ND Service Merit Award. He holds a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, as well as a Master of Arts in Psychology and dual undergraduate degrees in biological sciences and psychology from Stanford University.
