Chris Farrelly
ND, LAc
Dr. Farrelly is an adjunct faculty member in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at Bastyr University San Diego and offers acupuncture and east asian medicine services in his private practice at Bastyr University Clinic.
Dr. Farrelly believes in treating the person as a whole, integrating the physical body in proper balance with the environment, mind and spirit. He practices informed consent with patients and enjoys utilizing patient education tools to empower patients to take charge of their health. This way patients can bring about their desired health outcomes and create the life they aspire to. He also enjoys collaborating with other medical providers and can serve as adjunctive support in an integrative care team.
Dr. Farrelly completed a first-year residency and two years of general medicine clinical rotations at Bastyr University Clinic with a focus on autoimmune disease, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and pain management. He completed several off-site rotations, including internships at the world-renowned True North Health Center, and has volunteered at community health clinics working with diverse populations. He completed additional training in IV therapy, regenerative joint injections, and classical homeopathy under the instruction of Dr. André Saine, ND, DC. He is actively pursuing research opportunities involving the microbiome, probiotics, and how they can benefit various aspects of health.

His main focus in clinical care is on digestive health, including IBS, IBD, SIBO and “leaky gut” also know as intestinal hyper-permeability. A second area of focus is on dermatological conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and the connection between gut-skin health and the microbiome. Other clinical interests include primary care and family medicine, acupuncture, auto-immune disorders, endocrine abnormalities, integrative oncology, men’s health, and minor office procedures. He also enjoys employing homeopathic care into treatment plans to bring about healing.
