Allison L. Gawura
ND
Dr. Gawura (she/her/hers) is a first-year resident physician at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She supervises student clinicians on team care shifts, both independently and in collaboration with other attending physicians. She also sees patients in private practice (resident care).
"I walk alongside you in your path to healing by providing offerings. Based on what you share with me and my knowledge of naturopathic medicine, I will offer you my perspective. How can we harness the wisdom of nature and science to engage healing processes and restore balance to your entire being? We will determine this together in an ongoing, collaborative basis to facilitate deep healing."
Dr. Gawura brings her patients warm, compassionate care via the integration of therapies that focus on the inextricable connection between the mind, spirit, and body. Her experiences navigating the health care system both as a patient and health care provider have made it clear to her that there is a strong community calling for competent, heart-centered mental health care. She utilizes all the tools of the naturopathic scope, including counseling, biofeedback, nutrient therapy, herbs, hydrotherapy, and pharmaceuticals, in alliance with the patient to treat a variety of stress-related conditions that span across body systems (cardiovascular, endocrine, neurological, etc). She also has a clinical interest in women's health.
Dr. Gawura brings her mid-Michigan roots to her medical practice. Her love of nature, water, and music inspires her medicine and her personal life. If you find her out in the wild, you may see her running, swimming, writing, or dancing.
