Discover the transformative power of naturopathic medicine with Foundations 360, a 10-week program designed to help unlock your ability to heal. Guided by a naturopathic doctor, this program combines expert insights, peer support, and time-tested interventions to improve your well-being, even in cases where conventional medicine may have fallen short.

In a group of up to 10 participants, you’ll learn the root causes of disease and how they help to reveal your path toward recovery. By understanding the connection between illness and healing, you’ll discover how to make meaningful changes that lead to lasting wellness.

The program spans 10 weeks because sustainable lifestyle changes—ones that truly transform health—take time. Research shows it takes about 10 weeks to establish new habits, making this the ideal length to help you confidently strengthen your vitality, stimulate healing, and create a foundation for long-term wellness.

Whether managing a chronic condition or seeking holistic solutions, Foundations 360 empowers you to become your own healer and thrive long into the future.

Duration: 3-hour sessions each week for a total of 10 weeks  

Location: Bastyr University Clinic

This schedule is a general outline of the Foundations 360 program and is subject to change based on the needs and goals of participants. The content and order of sessions may be adjusted to provide the most personalized and effective experience for each group. 

Week 1: Overview. Why am I sick? What is disease? What is the process of healing? Introduce the determinants of health.

Week 2: How can we stimulate the self-healing response? Constitutional hydrotherapy is a time-tested naturopathic treatment that accomplishes this.

Week 3: Supporting digestive function with herbal formulas, mindfulness, and an individualized healthy diet.

Week 4: Optimizing nutrition and healing potential using a whole foods diet. How can we make eating healthy simpler?

Week 5: The role of movement in the promotion of health. Everything from walking to sweating—including when we move our bodies—can have profound benefits on our health. You don't have to be an athlete to train for a stronger future.

Week 6: Sleep and rest. Have you ever woken up in the morning and not felt rested? Sleep and rest are not the same thing, and we'll look more closely at how we can maximize the benefits of both.

Week 7: Mindfulness and stress reduction. A famous Lao Tzu quote reads, "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present." We'll explore some simple strategies to utilize mindfulness to mitigate the detrimental effects of stress on our health.

Week 8: Compassion. The way we relate to others and to ourselves is another crucial factor in our health equation. Cultivating compassion for others and ourselves can be a bridge to improved self-care, which is critical to maintaining long-term health goals.

Week 9: Spirit. While this might relate to religion for some, spirit is used here in a broader sense of what brings meaning, purpose, and joy to our lives. Better aligning ourselves with our core values helps shift the context of our lives to a greater state of congruence and peace.

Week 10: Sustaining. We'll look at navigating uncertainty as the group draws to a close, as well as reviewing and revising goals and success strategies while also planning for inevitable challenges along the path forward.
